Oh My Venus Episode 2 Review

Hey guys! Wow I’m blogging two days in a row! Woohooo!

Today I’m gonna review episode 2 from Oh My Venus.

Sooo it turns out the creepy guy following Joo-Eun at the end of episode 1 in the alley was indeed Young-Ho. Not sure exactly what he was trying to say or where he was trying to take her, but yeah…

How about no

Ahh the classic “I’m gonna grab your arms aggressively and drag you with me” *ugh*

Really PISSING ME OFF WITH YOUR LANGUAGE YOUNG-HO

STAAAAHP

I know he’s supposed to be a nice guy who likes to help people, but no one asked for your help my friend. LOL SORRY but it needed to be said.

So anyways, after insulting Joo-Eun like 10000 times, he finally leaves her alone.

Another scene flashing back shows Young-Ho when he was a kid, going off to the U.S (alone?), and his grandmother sending him off at the airport.

Grandma got styleeee btw

Also, can we just pause for a second because for realz tho I just gotta say So Ji Sub is super freaking handsome. Oh, I mentioned that in the last post? My bad. It’s just… he’s. so. goodlooking. omg.

Actual sleeping beauty

SO HANDSOME.

Later, Joo-Eun is in a meeting at work, when suddenly, a new employee is introduced. And turns out it’s her ex-best friend from uni! I find it supa funny that she couldn’t recognize her face until she heard her name.

Oh Soo Jin – 2015.
Screen Shot 2015-12-17 at 2.17.55 AM
Well, no shit.

So turns out Oh Soo Jin lost a lot of weight over the years and is back to terrorize her friend, and is also super annoying and stuff. Seems like she showed up at Joo-Eun’s workplace with an agenda. But we shall see…

Screen Shot 2015-12-17 at 2.18.52 AM

Meanwhile, poor Young-Ho has to go meet his grandma.

Screen Shot 2015-12-17 at 2.20.08 AM

SIKEEEE! He’s actually going on a surprise blind date! LOL DON’T U LOVE WHEN THAT HAPPENS?

Screen Shot 2015-12-17 at 2.22.14 AM

And for some reason, Woo-Shik is suddenly his new competition in the company. Perhaps because Young-Ho’s grandma wants him to take over the company. Although I don’t understand why this other dude cares about Young-Ho so much. Does he want to take over the company too?

So Joo-Eun goes to the hotel where Young-Ho is staying so she can get her phone and purse back, which he still has. Over there she runs into her ex-best friend, and ex-boyfriend – together. Awkward.

Screen Shot 2015-12-17 at 2.36.05 AMScreen Shot 2015-12-17 at 2.35.54 AM

And while she’s leaving, kind of slams into the door. NoOooOOooo I felt so shitty at this part!

Screen Shot 2015-12-17 at 2.36.24 AM
Dear lawd, why
Screen Shot 2015-12-17 at 2.36.39 AM
I feel you girl

BUT THEN – A WILD YOUNG-HO APPEARS
Screen Shot 2015-12-17 at 2.37.13 AM
LOL WAS THIS SCENE NOT EPIC?

Can I just say, I DIEDDD when Young-Ho put his hand up so tell Woo-Shik to back the EFF OFF. So funny, yet so cool at the same time. It felt like everyone stopped what they were doing for a moment.

Screen Shot 2015-12-17 at 2.37.14 AM
The hand that paused everything

Meanwhile, Woo-Shik looks so done.

When you’re being tested
Screen Shot 2015-12-17 at 2.38.30 AM
When your ex-girlfriend that you cheated on shows up with a hotter man

So then Young-Ho takes Joo-Eun to his hotel room, where THE FUNNIEST SCENE EVER TAKES PLACE as Young-Ho is helping Joo-Eun fix her arm which got dislocated I think, but the stuff they say is insinuating something totally else to everyone else…

THAT’S WHAT SHE SAIDDDD

Later on, Joo-Eun is talking to her stupid ass ex Woo-Shik, who’s trying to justify his actions by basically telling her she’s not good enough anymore.

Basically translates to “I’m an asshole ex-boyfriend who doesn’t know how to say sorry”

If he’s talking about her “beauty” he’s crazy, because she’s beautiful as hell. Bye Feliciaaaa.

Later on, Joo-Eun ends up at lunch with Soo-Jin who also feels the need to be a beyotch.

Joo-Eun asks Soo-Jin if she’s still mad about Lee Ji Hoon, and Soo-Jin laughs and pretends she doesn’t remember. But wait. WHO’S LEE JI HOON? WHOOO?

Screen Shot 2015-12-17 at 2.57.46 AM
LOL I guess it was about Lee Ji Hoon.

Screen Shot 2015-12-17 at 2.57.49 AM

Oh… that’s Lee Ji Hoon. A radio host who seems so have been smitten by Joo-Eun. Although if that is the reason Soo-Jin is being the way she is… DAMN. Girl knows how to hold a grudge.

Ji-Woong telling Joo-Eun she can lose weight and be happy. Because DUH losing weight = eternal happiness *sarcasm*

Oh snappp. I’m still not sure what’s the situation with Young-Ho and his dad. It seems like there’s absolutely no relationship between them. It hurts that no one in Young-Ho’s life seems to be happy to see him back in Korea. I can see why he’s so serious all the time. There must be some emotional pain that he’s been through in the past, and you can see that his father wasn’t much of a support system for him either.

Screen Shot 2015-12-17 at 3.03.12 AMScreen Shot 2015-12-17 at 3.03.26 AMLastly, Joo-Eun finds John Kim’s card! Ooooh things are getting exciting! Except she thinks Ji-Woong is John Kim…

Screen Shot 2015-12-17 at 3.05.57 AM

Okay, so that’s my review for ep 2! I hope I wasn’t too sarcastic at parts. Just some stuff in this drama annoys me, like the way everyone treats Joo-Eun, or when male leads have to interfere in everything and grab the girl’s arms or drag her places against her will. It’s just stuff that irks me, and I see it in a lot of dramas, but if I start talking about that, I can just go on and on. However besides that stuff, I’m pretty entertained by this drama. I also like that I don’t really get an “evil” vibe from any of the characters… yet. I mean yes, some of them are beyotches and asses, but none of them really seem like crazy villains so far. Which I like.

Another thing I noticed in this drama is something I face a lot in my life. The idea that there are people out there who care for you and for your health, but they may not have the best approach in telling you. People like Joo-Eun’s best friend, probably Young-Ho, and Ji-Woong. I feel like those people have really good intentions, and I know people like that, but the things they say aren’t always helpful, and can hurt. I struggle a lot between ignoring their words and looking at their intentions only, or trying to take their sometimes harsh advice and becoming a better version of myself. It’s hard to tell sometimes when people are really trying to help, or when they’re using your weight as an excuse to comment on your body. Because if I was super thin and ate unhealthily, I doubt people would comment or care are much as they do when I’m overweight. However, I always try to look at people’s true intentions, and obviously let them know when the stuff they’re saying hurts me. ANYWAYS, WAY OFF-TOPIC. But that’s kind of the main thing that was bugging me about the drama. No one was treating Joo-Eun the way she should be treated. Not the people who care about her, and obviously not the people who don’t.

Because there’s also people like Woo-Shik, who care about her weight only, and Soo-Jin, who makes fun of how Joo-Eun looks but tries to act like she cares so much about eating healthy and controlling food intake by constantly commenting on stuff like that. But the only reason she cares about “being healthy” is because of weight-reasons, not health reasons.

Oh another thing that confuses me is when Soo-Jin says that Joo-Eun told her the reason she was overweight was because she was lonely or sad, or something like that?! I’m a bit confused as to why Joo-Eun said that. I don’t get why you would say that to your friend?

Anyways, I digress. I hope this review was some-what okay, because it was a bit rushed, and I kind of ranted a lot. I think I need to keep my reviews shorter.

So that’s all for now!

See you after ep 3!
